Are you a 4th - 6th grader who wants to go beyond school band or orchestra? Do you take lessons and practice at home, but wish you could play with other kids? Come to the Exploratorium this summer where you'll be able to play all kinds of fun music from Bach to Björk, Miles to Radiohead. We'll help you learn your instrument quickly so you can have fun making music with other kids and teachers, too.

plus several rest/snack breaks throughout the day.

Improve rhythm and counting using motion and games.
On Practicing
Get practice tips from Academy TAs, and learn how to play in small ensembles without a conductor.
What is a Blamabakazoo?
Beats me! Learn about the science of sound as you invent and build instruments of your own creation.
Prep-ah-kes-tra (noun):
1. The Exploratorium's conducted ensemble that specializes in world premieres of musical daring and greatness.
2. an exuberant sound that becomes less raucous over the course of three weeks.
